Tignes

Tignes - Val d'Isère skiing area

Tignes and its magical glacier

How about you take no notice of the seasons and decided to push your limits as far as they can go? What if you listened to no one but the voice inside your head telling you to indulge yourself by skiing under the summer sun, taking a paddle boat around a mountain lake, pursuing all kinds of thrills or perfecting your golf swing? Then you would get yourself to Tignes.

Tignes' famous attractions are unique and abundant: its glacier, its water sports centre, its extreme sports facilities and its golf course where fairways flirt with the mountains. Cradled by majestic peaks and with nothing garish about it, this environmentally responsible resort offers endless invigorating and sporty ways to enjoy yourself. This is the place to come for holidays where you can truly get away from daily pressure and embrace one reality: the glory of nature.

Are you a thrill seeker? Then you are sure to be excited by ice diving in winter, zip line ski jumping or sheer mountain bike descents.

From here you can continue on to the slopes of Val d’Isère, whose ski area is linked to Tignes'. This huge area is devoted to skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer and is known as Espace Killy in honour of Jean-Claude Killy, the triple Olympic alpine skiing champion who grew up here. Come and be enchanted!

Our collection of exquisite properties includes a select few in Tignes, where you can be shown around by our Concierge Service, whose members will help you tailor a break and services to suit you.

In short,

The town

Tignes is located in the Vanoise massif in Haute Tarantaise and is renowned for the quality of its skiing and facilities. It is also home to France's highest dam, whose history is inextricably linked with that of the resort. The construction of the dam in 1952 led to the destruction of the original village, which was subsequently submerged.

The resort lies at the foot of 300 kilometres of ski slopes and comprises several villages and districts, all exuding a family-friendly atmosphere. The charm of Les Brévières is enhanced by its traditional chalets. The centrepiece of Tignes 1800 is a church built as an exact replica of the one that stood in the original village and, as such, embodies the history of the resort. A little farther along lies the district of Lavachet, an oasis of calm. Then comes Tignes le Lac and Le Val Claret, where you can carry on your après-ski fun until late into the night.
