Chamonix

Mont-Blanc

Chamonix, simply superb

Ever dreamt of a holiday that felt like you were living a legend? Or wanted an experience worthy of the great mountain ventures enshrined in classic literature? First holidays camps, first ascents. Chamonix is the place to go to tackle the highest peak in Europe.

Surrounded by Mont Blanc and its needles, domes and glaciers, this small cosmopolitan town still bustles with talk of all the expeditions that have made its name so evocative. Families with long and proud connections to the mountains love to holiday in "Cham'". They can often be seen hurrying quietly along the cobblestone streets, where chalets, town houses and buildings dating back to the Belle Epoque stand as silent, elegant witnesses to the visitors' joy and intrepidness.

This is a place that fosters refinement, audacity and humility. The skiing here is challenging, both on- and off-piste, but in summer the mountains also make for excellent family excursions, with trails taking in spectacular highland lakes.

In Chamonix you can get close to magnificent peaks while exploring the history of mountain life. You can take the rack railway to the Mer de Glace glacier, travel on the Mont Blanc tramway or the Aiguille du Midi cable car. However, you go, you will be following in the footsteps of pioneers and can marvel at views unlike any other in the world and visit museums perched at dizzying heights.

Our concierge service can arrange for you to enjoy a stay tailored exactly to your wishes while ensuring you do not miss out on any of the exploration opportunities offered by the resort.

In short,

The town

While the little town affectionately called "Cham’" enjoys a worldwide reputation, its valley has several villages that can also serve as lovely starting points from which to discover this kingdom of legendary peaks.

Venture beyond the centre and you can discover Les Houches, the village that is said to stand guard for Mont-Blanc and is made up of hamlets and alpine pasturelands. Readers of Frison-Roche will prefer Servoz, which locals dub the keeper of the valley. Argentière likes further to the north at the foot of the Aiguille Verte and is known for its glacier.Lastly, anyone who loves flora and wildlife will adore Vallorcine.

No matter where you are, you can cherish the view, the intoxicating beauty of nature and the precious feeling of being above daily strife, in a pure and special place.
